Summary: |
Among these Chenchus sitting in front of a grass-hut, one woman appears to be dressing another's hair (and/or picking nits). Grass-huts are built in the forest to shelter from the heat but also in permanent settlements for widows. Less complex than the houses in permanent settlements, a temporary grass-hut can be built in two hours. It lacks a central pole and consists of grass thatch thrown over a conical structure of sticks. |
