Summary: Tall poles that dominate this Apatani village scene are cut from hardwood and are approximately 15-20 metres high : they are erected during the Myoko festival late March to mid-April, on or near a ritual platform lapang, in the village playing host to other villages during the festival : at the top we can see a thick cane rope tied between two poles, which Apatanis swing from and perform acrobatics : the acrobatics are still performed, though not as frequently as in the past.
