Summary: |
Two days after the rice seeds were left for germinating, all people of Barakot sowed their fields. Each sower filled a winnowing fan again and again with seed, taking it from large bags dumped on the bund. He sprinkled some of the seed on the ground next to him, and threw out a large handfull of seed into the centre of the seedbed. Only men sowed, but there were women present, who had helped to carry the seed which until that morning had been allowed to sprout in the houses. |
