Summary: This Nyishi man is putting up a ritual altar somewhere near the settlement of Jorum, only a two or three hour walk from the Apatani valley : as is usual with similar structures throughout the Subansiri region, the altar consists of bamboo poles, bamboo saplings, bamboo shavings, woven bamboo mesh and leaves : the man wears a traditional cane belt, coarse cotton tunic and shawl, earrings metal loops through a wooden disc in the lobe, cane hat with hornbill or eagle, feather and hair style knot with skewer.
