Summary: This is Kago Bida, an influential Apatani man and shaman of Hija village, standing in Christoph von Fürer-Haimendorf's campsite in the Apatani valley : He described Kago Bida as 'one of the richest and most influential of the younger men who : told me laughingly that he hoped to build up a polygamous household in the fashion of rich Daflas Nyishis : : I did not doubt his ability to content several women : Rosy-cheeked, powerfully built and always well and rather expensively dressed, he was the picture of a man fond of good living...' Here he is displaying a shawl with a distinctive diamond pattern, worn by shamans during certain ceremonies.
