Summary: This is Lod Koji with his wife and son : this Apatani couple have adopted modern dress and hair style : although she wears a ceremonial skirt for the Myoko festival celebrated at the time this photograph was taken, she has neither the nose plugs nor the facial tattoos that were traditional but banned by the Apatani Student Association a few years before this photograph was taken : Even more striking, she wears no necklaces : He does not have the tattoo mark on the chin that his father would have had : He may be a government employee either in Hapoli, in the Apatani valley, or in Itanagar, the state capital, or in a state office in Assam.
