Summary: During the Myoko festival (late March to mid-April), Apatanis used to perform acrobatics, swinging on a thick cane rope tied to two tall poles. These poles, cut from hardwood and approximately 15-20 metres, are erected on or near a ritual platform in the village playing host to other villages during the festival. Although most of the high-flyers are men, here we see that women also enjoyed the fun. The acrobatics are still performed, though not as frequently as in the past.
