Group of Kukis, Tiho River (Image number N.025, J.P. Mills Photographic Collection)
The Kuki (people) settled south of the Nagas, along the border between India and Burma, from which country they are fairly recent immigrants. Because they moved into areas which the resident Nagas considered to be their own, there has often been conflict between the two groups.
