Summary: |
This is Tsoknungtemshi, the most famous "medicine man" in the Ao country, whose animal soul companion was a leopard. It is said that in 1917 a man went to consult him and slept in his house, waking up to find Tsoknungtemshi speaking in a strange tongue to a leopard which was sitting beside him and licking his arm. People who disbelieved his powers were told by Tsoknungtemshi that they would meet a leopard at a certain spot, and invariably did so. There are many similar stories of "tiger men" among the Nagas. |
