These are primarily broken into two sub-series relating to ‘Shore’ and ‘Floating’ staff drawing a distinction between those staff employed in offices in China or Hong Kong, and those employed to work onboard China Navigation ships. Other series of letters relate to pension arrangements and discussions with the Colonial Office and other administrative organisations regarding the welfare and registration of staff. |
