File of papers relating mainly to the management and pay of staff during the period of WWII. The papers include circulars sent from the China Navigation Company to 'Floating Staff' as well as correspondence relating specfically to V R Woolfe and his pay / leave arrangements. The file also includes some inventories of belongings and claims relating to the loss of these. Later letters (c. 1966) relate to the retirement of V R Woolfe and negotiations relating to determining his service history, original records having been lost during the War.
In addition there is a boook, published in 1938 by the North China Herald entitled '5 Months of War' which is signed by V R Woolfe during his employment aboard SS Suiyang. |
