Also letters on the political situation in the North affecting trade - including during the Sino-Japanese War July 1894-1895; May-September 1900 concerning the Uprising and bombardment of Tientsin [Tianjin] and British naval actions; 1904-06 particularly concerning the formation and organisation of the Tientsin Lighter Company
