Admin history: John Swire & Sons took a controlling interest of 85% in Bahamas Airways Ltd in 1968, taking control from the British Oversears Airways Corporation. The airline closed two years later in 1970 when Swire liquidated it following a lack of interest in investment from the government in the Bahamas, led by Pindling.
