Summary: Printed diary for the year 1975, used as an appointment diary, aide mémoire, and message book by Michael Gillingham ['MG'] of Hugh M Moss Ltd, dealer in Chinese art. It records appointments for Gillingham and other employees, including meetings with clients and suppliers, auction sales and exhibitions; as well as messages for Gillingham taken by other employees about visits and telephone calls to the company's offices. Entries made by a number of different individuals, including Gillingham. It includes a handwritten name index at end of volume, covering January-February entries only. The diary includes a number of business cards affixed to pages. Ruled paper. One page per day. Handwritten. 1 volume. Blue leather cover, with 'MG' [Michael Gillingham] handwritten on front cover and 'Langham Diary 1975' printed on front cover and spine. Diary also includes loose items (found inside cover), including: business card for Michael Gillingham at Hugh M Moss Ltd; 4 pages from an exercise book containing notes on client visits (11 June 1978- 19 June 1978) (4 sheets); a business card of Emma Bunker, Vice Chairman of Asian Art Commission; a letter from 'Hugh' [Hugh Moss] in Hong Kong sent to 'Gilligogs' [Michael Gillingham] concerning Moss's experiences following his move to Hong Kong, and providing advice to Gillingham on a mark on a Canton enamel piece and the potential for a commission sale on a large panel (2 May 1975) (1 sheet); a press cutting from unknown publication 'Small things bright and beautiful' by Marcia Macdonald about Chinese cloisonné figurines (? 1975); brief handwritten working notes on purchases under title 'G Levy' (1 sheet); brief handwritten working notes on objects under title 'OB' (1 sheet); business card for Emma C.
