The Dreyfus collection was sold via John Sparks Ltd, dealer in Chinese art (London) during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Illustrated with black and white and colour photographic prints of artworks. Some prints missing. Some entries include loose additional notes or related correspondence regarding the artworks [removed to separate folder for preservation reasons]. Comprising: handwritten notes by Ruth Dreyfus, tilted 'Japanese Porcelain Un précis' concerning Japanese porcelain types (1 piece); notes by Dreyfus, titled 'The Eight-Immortals (undated) (1 piece); a letter received by Mrs [Irene] Dreyfus from the book seller B. T. Batsford (November 1937) concerning the price of a copy of 'Chinese ceramics in private collections' / by R. L. Hobson; letter received by Mrs [Irene] Dreyfus from the R. L. Hobson (13 January 1938) concerning obtaining a copy of 'A catalogue of Chinese pottery and porcelain in the collection of Sir Percival David' / by R. L. Hobson. (1 piece); and a black and white photographic print of 'a chinoiserie! Bought in Paris 1965', annotated 'not in Collection'. Correspondence with items includes a letter from G.
