Folder containing 33 proofs for adverts in the periodical 'Oriental Art', placed by John Sparks Ltd, dealer in Chinese art (London). Proofs were sent to John Sparks Ltd by the publishers for approval or correction before final printing. 'Oriental Art' was a leading Asian art history journal. The advertising proofs include a black and white photographic reproduction of an object for sale through the dealer, with accompanying description; name and contact details of John Sparks; and royal warrants held by the company. The folder also contains a letter received by Peter Vaughan (John Sparks Ltd) sent by E. S. Elsey-Double ('Oriental Art') asking for a choice of background colour for an advertisement to appear in the publication in winter 1964 issue (9 November 1964, 1 piece) and a note about Deeds of Covenant from the 'Oriental Ceramic Society' sent to subscribers (undated, 1 piece).
