Shortly after Victoria High School for Girls was founded around 1887, the lease was bought by Church Missionary Trust Association (CMTA) in 1888. The school was an evangelical foundation, but it “fell” into high Church hands. Miss Sorabji was an early headmistress. The property was sold by CMTA in 1912. In 1890s the Home for Widows founded by Pandita Ramabai in Bombay moved to Pune. In 1953, ZBMM was asked to make staff available to help in Bible School work, and so Sundrabai Powar Bible Training College was opened in a former Zenana Training Home. |
