scb_admin_history |
The hospital opened in 1907 was named after Miss Ballard. For many years she was the Secretary of the Girls Zenana Missionary Union, who had raised much of the money needed to build it. Financial pressure contributed to its closure in 1929. Lady Muir Industrial Home was established to receive women from different Missions over a large area; basic teaching enabled them to earn their own living. Zenana visiting was also undertaken.
