description Consists of four letters in Samoan from Chief Malietoa, addressed to William Goward, and the the LMS Board of Directors. The first letter dated 11 Nov 1895 is an invitation to a feast. The second, dated 25 May 1896 refers to the Government Commission at Tutuila and is a request for Goward to visit. The third, dated 23 July 1896 is a plea for the Queen's brother to be allowed to travel. The fourth letter is a petition for an additional minister to support Goward's work. Includes translations of the letters into English, made in 1955 by Rev E J Edwards.
