Emily Sarah Milne, born 20 Sep 1878 at Holloway; appointed to Berhampur; sailed 19 Sep 1918, via America; married Rev Evan Rees of the same mission, on 9 Nov 1920; Miss Milne's work at Berhampur was in the Hindu Schools, and industrial work in the Converts' Home; she was in charge of the whole of the womens' work, Feb-Nov 1920; in Calcutta, as Mrs Rees, she undertook Bible and Zenana work, and a day school for Hindu girls at a country station; Mr Rees died 8 Jan 1922; Mrs Rees was re-appointed on the Society's staff and continued to work at Calcutta. |
