Admin history: Born 24 Sep 1867 at St Leonards-on-Sea; studied at New College, London; appointed to Inyati, Matabeleland, South Africa; ordained 12 Jul 1894; left England 1 Sep 1894; Sep 1895 settled at Buldima, a new centre; during the Matabeleland war in 1898 he retired to Buluwayo; 1898, removed temporarily to Hankey; resumed charge of Buldima district in 1899; Apr 1911-Jun 1912 he was Acting Principal of Tiger Kloof Institution; Dec 1914 transferred to Serowe to superintend work in Lake Ngami region; died from fever 21 Nov 1917 at Seseki on the Zambesi.
Acquisition: Deposited on permanent loan with the records of the London Missionary Society by the Congregational Council for World Mission (later Council for World Mission) in 1973.
