Admin history: William Nelson Bitton was appointed as a missionary in Shanghai in 1897. He represented LMS missionaries at the Edinburgh Conference of 1910. He served as Home Secretary of the London Missionary Society from 1914 to 1936.
Acquisition: Deposited on permanent loan with the records of the London Missionary Society by the Congregational Council for World Mission (later Council for World Mission) in 1973.
