Walter Medhurst - Description of places visited on tour of eastern coast of Malayan peninsula and off-shore islands: Pahang (town at mouth of Pahang river), Tringano [Kuala Terengganu], Klinton [Kelantan], Patani [Pattani], Songora [?Songkhla] and in western Borneo: Pontianak, Mandor (prospect for mission to Dayaks) and Sambas, commenting on geography, government, commerce and condition of Chinese in all these places; accounts; report on preaching; first baptism candidate; difficulty learning Japanese, getting Japanese books or visiting Japan; suggests tour of coasts of China and Japan with books.
