Severe illness. Visit to friends to recuperate. Arrival of Mr and Mrs Dyer and a lady appointed to Malacca and Singapore. Mr Dyer decides to remain at Penang because of the great need there. Voyage to China by Mrs Beighton for health reasons. Enclosed list of Penang Schools.
