Summary: Various papers relating to the case against Rev John Smith, LMS missionary, who was implicated in the Demerara Rebellion of 1823, and who died during his imprisonment whilst waiting for an appeal against the death sentence, on 6 February 1824. Many of the papers appear to have been collected together by D.
