The journal is in three parts, dating 18 Dec 1807 - 25 Mar 1808; 1 Apr - 17 Dec 1808; 18 Dec 1808 - 11 Jun 1809. Includes details of the everyday transactions of the mission station at Demerara, including evangelical work amongst the both the free and enslaved populations. Refers to the problem of some planters not allowing enslaved people to attend religious services, but others who have changed their opinion of his work. Some of the paragraphs have been underlined, possibly for publication.
