Summary: Includes letters from: L H van Gravesande, Charles Town (George Town) to Henry Brooke (Brighton, Sussex) re: John Kempton; John Kempton, Demerary [Demerara] - complaining of the expense of his journey and financial ruin; Richard Elliott, Demerara - complains of not receiving Chronicle or letter and against John Wray and John Kempton; health problematic; his horse stabbed, but work is going well with large congregations except at Le Resouvenir; explains his leaving Tobago; recalled to England but continues to work until hears from Directors. Copies latter to Revd Charles Dewhurst, Bury St Edmunds, England; H van Cooten, Demerara - Richard Elliott has lost sympathy; his horse attacked; never heard any charges against Elliott except from 2 fellow missionaries; John Davies, Demerara - asks LMS Directors for same salary as other mssionaries; he and John Wray are reconciled; works with Thomas Talboys [he spells it Tolboys] (Methodist missionary); differences made up. Request from Essequibo to start mission there. His good opinion of Richard Elliott. Visits Mahaica and 'Indians' [indigeneous peoples, Amerindians].
