114d. David Livingstone, Newstead - undated fragments

One piece makes reference to Speke's funeral, "whose sad fate threw gloom over the whole meeting of the British Association"; in the other he discuses his desire to have "free access to the Highlands by the Zambesi's Shire...that beyond doubt is the great highway into Central Africa...".
