Admin history: Desmond Kenilworth Clinton was born on 28 July 1908 in the Transvaal. He completed his theological training in England at New College, London, and Mansfield College, Oxford. He married Iris Corbin on 22 June 1935 at Streatham Congregational Church. He was ordained shortly afterwards, on 30 June 1935 at Purley. Mr and Mrs Clinton sailed for South Africa in the same year, where Desmond became minister of the Congregational Church at Claremont, Cape Town.
