Summary: Miscellaneous collection of letters relating to LMS Africa Mission. Includes letter from Rev John Harris, to Mrs Rawson, Jun 1884, just prior to his departure for Central Africa with the London Missionary Society; business card for John Harris; photograph signed by John Harris; unidentified photograph, 1884 [also John Harris?]; newspaper clipping detailing 'Death of the Rev J. Harris' [1885]. Also includes letter from Robert Moffat to Mrs Read, Oct 1842; letter from Robert Moffat to Mrs Rawson, Jul 1872; manuscript account given by an enslaved person in South Africa in 1818, transcribed by Barnabas Shaw, Dec 1828 - the account details their capture as a child and subsequent enslavement - bears a red wax seal which reads 'Pity Poor Africa'.
