Admin history: Elizabeth Reid was born in 1843, at Westroy, Orkney. She married James Davidson Hepburn on 21 April 1870. James was appointed as a missionary with the London Missionary Society in 1870, and they were stationed at Shoshong, South Africa from that year onwards. In 1889, as Khama and his people had removed to Phalapye, the Hepburns also settled there. James Hepburn died in England, 1893. Elizabeth died at Bulawayo in 1935.
