Includes minutes of the Properties Commission from 1916 and related correspondence from Rev W.R. McGee, Treasurer and Business Agent at Tiger Kloof, on behalf of the Properties Commission; papers relating to LMS negotiations with the government in South Africa and the Registrar of Deeds in Cape Town and King Williams Town; correspondence with the Northern District Association of the Congregational Union of South Africa (CUSA) regarding an LMS Deputation visit to the region Mr F. Hawkins in 1923 to look at property-related issues; signed copy of LMS Instructions addressed to Mr Hawkins, 12 Dec 1923, conferring authority on him to act on their behalf to settle any outstanding matters with regards to properties in the Southern part of the Cape Province in consultation with the members of the Properties Commission during his Deputation in 1923; list of properties transferred to the Congregational Union of South Africa together with costs of the transfer; copy of a draft Trust Deed, 6 Nov 1924, establishig The London Missionary Society Trust and associated funds from the proceeds of the sale of certain properties (including at Port Elizabeth and Hansmoeskraal farm at Pacaltsdorp) and from the Hankey Endowment, to be applied for stated purposes including grants to "native persons" to allow them to undertake religious work under the auspices of the CUSA, for educational use or for furthering the spread of Christianity in the region. Also includes documents relating to individual properties, including land for sale at George, Hansmoeskraal (Hans Muis Kraal), Kruisfontein, memoranda on the Hankey Institution.
