description Journal of George Harris, June - July 1889, describing his voyage in the John Williams to the mission stations of the Cook Islands. At each island reports of the native teachers were heard and contributions to the Society collected, meetings with the church members and chiefs were also held. Islands he visited included Rarotonga, Aitutaki, Penrhyn, Rakaanga, Manihiki, Pukapuka, Atui, Mitiaro and Mauke before returning to Mangaia. William Lawrence joined the expedition from Rarotonga which was also accompanied by another missionary ship - Harrier.
