Islands which he visited included Olsenga [Olosega], Fakaofo and Atafu in the Tokelau group, Nukulaelae, Fanufuti, Vaitupu, Nukufetau, Nui, Nuitao, Nanomea [Nanumea] and Nanomanga [Nanumanga] in the Ellice [Tuvalu] group, and Arorae, Nukunau, Peru [Beru], Onotoa and Tamana in the Gilbert group [Kiribati]. At each station he received reports from the native teachers and visited the churches and schools. There is a covering letter accompanying the journal. |
