The islands he visited included Olsenga [Olosega], Fakaofo and Atafu in the Tokelau group; Nukulaelae, Fanufuti, Vaitapu, Nukufetau, Nui, Nanomanga [Nanumanga], Nanomea [Nanumea], and Niutao in the Ellice group and Arorae, Nukunau, Peru [Beru], Onatoa and Tamana in the Gilbert Group.
