scb_admin_history The John Williams VII was a purpose-built ship, started in 1960, and named by Princess Margaret. She weighed 125 tons and registered as a yacht. She was 85ft long, 23 ft wide, and had a speed of 9 knots. She was steel-framed and built of teak, had two diesel engines, radar, short-wave radio, echo-sounding gear and direction-finding equipment. She ended her service at the end of 1971.
