Summary: Original registers of missionaries maintained by the London Missionary Society, and later the Council for World Mission. Volumes contain annotated entries for each individual missionary (given a unique missionary number), including biographical information and details of missionary service overseas, periods of furlough and retirement. The first volume of the Register, London Missionary Society. A Register of Missionaries, Deputations, etc. from 1796 to 1923, was published in 1923. All volumes are indexed.

Arrangement: Registers are organised by the date of appointment.
Access status: Restrictions
Access conditions: Registers contain personal data regarding named individuals, and are closed for 80 years from the date of the final entry in each volume. NOTE: Where the date of death can be verified for individuals in closed volumes, applications for access to information on that individual may be made in writing to the Archivist.
