Admin history: The Ladies' Committee was formed by the Society in 1875, when the LMS began to expand its work in relation to 'Female Education' amongst people overseas. The Committee comprised fifteen ladies who were appointed annually to examine potential female missionaries, supervise their training, raise funds and correspond with the missionaries once in the field.
