Summary: Series of volumes containing copies of correspondence from the Foreign Secretaries of the LMS Board to Government officials, and Departments such as the Secretary of State for the Colonies, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and the Admiralty. Also includes significant officials within British society such as the Archbishop of Canterbury, and overseas statesmen, ambassadors and officials. Refers to matters of political significance for the Society and its work, such as the relationship with Governments of other countries i.e. Madagascar. Also includes copies of correspondence with other missionary societies. From c.1915 onwards, the volume contains copies of powers of attorney in relation to the transfer and administration of LMS properties and land.
