Photographs in this sequence date clearly from 1977 onwards. Photographs from the period of organisational transition from the London Missionary Society to the Congregational Council for World Mission and then the Council for World Mission in the early to mid 1970s can be found in the London Missionary Society Photograph sequence. Portraits of missionaries whose service spanned this transition from LMS to CWM can be found in the London Missionary Society Missionary Portraits sequence.
CWM photographic material has been arranged broadly into 5 groups: photographs depicting events & meetings (including CWM Council and Executive Committee meetings, assemblies, regional councils, youth consultations, anniversary events and ceremonies); photographs depicting mission programmes and their participants, specifically the Training in Mission (TIM) programme; photographic portraits of CWM staff and secretaries; personal collections of photographs donated for inclusion in the archive by former CWM staff, missionaries and their descendants; and
photographs collected for use in CWM publicity material such as newsletters and magazines. |
