Provenance: Rev John Graham. Graham family folklore has it this was acquired by Rev John Graham near Tibet, when a man [possibily with a condition known as 'gigantism' or 'giantism'] had come down from the hills to the village where Rev Graham was staying. He had heard Graham was there and, as he had severe toothache, went to see if Graham could provide any help. Rev Graham extracted the tooth to the relief of the man, who then wanted to show his gratitude so, as he was already getting a new pair of boots from the village, he gave one of his old boots to Mr Graham as a souvenir.
