Series of files of correspondence from various parties involved in the administration of purchase orders including Messrs Sandberg, and Messrs Fox & Mayo (Consulting Engineers). Includes a number of files relating specifically to the administration of purchase orders for contract B129, and in particular the outstanding delivery of locomotive spare parts and related materials manufactured by the Vulcan Foundry. This was the result of operational difficulaties faced by the Chinese Government Purchasing Commission in the absence of communication from the Board of Trustees, and the suspension of Indemnity Funds from December 1938. On the winding-up of the Purchasing Commission in September 1951, Messrs Sandberg took on the task of disposing of these spare parts. |
