The Algiers Mission Band Association Ltd. was formed in 1959, with a third of the legacy left to the Algiers Mission Band by Miss May. At its incorporation it took over all the cash assets and liabilities in the UK of the Algiers Mission Band, which had existed as an unincorporated body for many years. The Algiers Mission Band Association purchased the property in Gordon Rd, Ealing, which served as the Home Offce for a period but was sold in due course. Always separate in its funding from the Algiers Mission Band HQ on the Field, it continued to exist until it was voluntarily wound up on the 5th September 1983 and its remaining assets transferred to the North Africa Mission.
The Société Dar Naama fulfilled a similar function in relation to property owned in Algeria, and though there was discussion, at the time of merger with North Africa Mission, about the Algiers Mission Band Association taking control of the Société Dar Naama, this did not come about for legal reasons. Some shares in the Société Anonyme Dar Naama were held by the Algiers Mission Band Association Ltd but in trust for the Algiers Mission Band/North Africa Mission. |
