The minutes throw an interesting light on the relationship between the Executive Committee in Algiers and the Home Council; the remarkably close links (before the merger) and tensions between the Algiers Mission Band and North Africa Mission; the history of the Algiers Mission Band following Lilias Trotter's death; the developing legal requirements at home which brought new responsibilities to the Home staff and Council, and the effects of the Algerian Civil War on the work and arrangements in Algeria, eventually necessitating the sale of Dar Naama, the Headquarters of the Algiers Mission Band. |
