Admin history: Philip Symes was born on 2 May 1934. He married Joyce Elizabeth Burton (born 3 Aug 1959). Philip and Joyce were appointed to Southern Africa by the London Missionary Society in December 1960, and sailed on 29 Dec. Philip taught mainly science at Inyati High School, Rhodesia [now Zimbabwe], and in Jan 1969 became Principal of the School. Mr & Mrs Symes resigned from the London Missionary Society in 1972.
