Admin history: Cecil John Davenport (1863-1926), served as a medical missionary in China with the London Missionary Society, 1889-1926. He was born at Adelaide, South Australia, on 26 May 1863. He worked as House Surgeon at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, 1887-1888. He was appointed medical missionary at Chung-King, West China, and sailed in 1889, arriving at his post in 1890.
