Admin history: Thomas Tester served as a missionary with the London Missionary Society in Madagascar between 1901 and 1939. He resided for a time at Ambohidratrimo; removed to Vangaina in 1904, opening a new station there; transferred to the station and district of Ambohimanga in 1922; was appointed to the Theological College in Tananarive, with charge of districts in 1927, and retired in 1939.
Acquisition: Donated to SOAS in March 2006.
