The collections includes manuscripts and typescripts from the Heinemann African Writers Series; Heinemann Caribbean Writers Series; Heinemann Studies in African Literature series; Heinemann Secondary Readers series; and miscellaneous other Heinemann works relating to Africa. The largest part of the Collection was presented to SOAS Library by the publishers Heinemann Educational Books in the 1970s and 1980s; a smaller number of works were donated or deposited directly by the authors; a few works were purchased.
Acquisition: Donated to SOAS Library by Heinemann Educational Books Ltd on 14th September 1976.
