Summary: ‘Original SOAS Library, Finsbury Circus in 1935’, by Ruslip Fletcher, 1935 MEDIUM ink drawing DIMENSIONS 53.8 x 76 cm REFERENCE LDSAC 2022.7.12 SOAS was founded in 1916 as the School of Oriental Studies at Finsbury Circus, London, the then premises of the London Institution, which was built in 1815-19 from designs by William Brooks. The building was created in Greek revival style. It was the home of the School from 1916 till the building was pulled down in April 1936 and the School permanently shifted to its present campus in 1941.
