Kain tenunan are an important part of the Brunei textile and weaving tradition. They are used in royal functions, and are now popular among the public as well. The example here is Kain Jong Sarat Berpakan, the most elaborate form of this textile, which is characterised by a glossy appearance, with gold or silver threads used for the pattern on top of a coloured silk background.
